Match Report Round 5 – U8 Cockatoo Sunday 13th May

The Cockatoo mums enjoyed a sleep in for Mother’s Day as the under 8s went bush up to StIves for an early 8am start.

Playing ten-a-side with two new StIves teammates for each third, the Cockatoos impressed with handball passing to teammates. Ollie kicked an early goal, maintaining the high Mother’s Day standard from the Miliauskas household (mum Petrina won the best on ground bouquet at our Auskick in 2017).

Mum Margie braved the early start and chill to see her boy Ryan show great skill with hand and feet across the ground. She (and all the mums) were rewarded with some nice chocolates from the Lane Cove Cats. Ysabella and young Max were our 1-2 punch from the backline, Aza bravely ran all day in the midfield, while superboot Xavier is our strong marking target finding good position for his teammates.

Thanks to father Cam’s oranges, Jerry also hit the scoreboard and impressed in just his second week of Auskick, while Oscar effectively passed to teammates for a few more score assists.

We look forward to regaining coach Tony, super-skilled Jonti and our secret weapon Scarlett in the coming weeks. Go Cockatoos!
