Auskick Report Round 14 – 5th August

Today was great to see so many young footballers move into a trial of Under 8s on the far field of the synthetic – it really does show how far as a club Lane Cove Cats has developed in only a few years since the Club was founded.

Thanks to Kristen and Jock for running the Under 8s today and giving the kids a taste of competition to prepare them for the years ahead.  They awarded this weeks Best On Ground winners to Celeste Gilchrist, Levi von Giese and Owen Beck who all slotted straight into the competitive nature of what Under 8s will bring.

When the children progress into the more competitive nature of Under 8s and into Juniors, it is always important to remind them about the spirit of competition.  At Lane Cove Cats we want to encourage the community environment we have built so please take the time to remind all of your children that they need to encourage their peers at all times.

As mentioned, next week we will not be on the synthetic field, we will be down at the bottom ovals on the ‘grass’ due to a Juniors carnival.  I’ll send out a reminder for this at the end of the week but please head down there when you arrive.

Next week will be the last normal session for the year, with our Gala Day (trophy presentation, parents vs kids, inflatable obstacle course…) the following week on 19th August so please make sure this is in your calendar.  Its likely to be a slightly later start at 8:30am and run for 2 hours so please keep this time free.

See you next week.
